Scientific Integrity Expert Group

The tasks of the Scientific Integrity Expert Group under the leadership of Prof. Beatrice Beck-Schimmer are as follows:
  • Following the national and international developments in the field of scientific integrity and ensuring the regular national and international exchange
  • Stating its position to principle issues of scientific integrity
  • Advising research institutions, research funding institutions and political authorities in principle issues of scientific integrity
  • Helping to raise awareness of researchers and research funding institutions about behaviour of integrity in the scientific context and supporting the implementation of the contents of scientific integrity.
The Board of Directors elected Michelle Salathé as Contact Person Scientific Integrity.

 

Mission

In 2006, the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences established the commission «Scientific Integrity», which follows national and international developments and takes position on general questions related to scientific integrity.
The commission advises research institutions, research promoting institutions and political authorities on fundamental questions. In 2008, the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences published the brochure «Scientific integrity: principles and rules of procedure» (pdf).
